This group is intended for newer players or old players who come back after a long time. I'm personally still attempting to create some kind of ladder thing that will lure more hardcore players into the game, but I'm not sure if this will ever succeed. Many people lament about C&C but I think there's far more reason to lament about Nox. Aside from that, even when Westwood was around, I'm pretty sure the game had pretty dying participation after a certain number of years— like less than 100 playing (online in public servers) at a given time maybe. That said, a low player count after many years (maybe this was 4-5 years?
I don't know) is somewhat normal for many games. I probably don't know the details as well as others; I think Westwood kinda neglected the game aside from adding the very nice Noxquest add-on pack. So it might not be entirely EA's fault, just a combination of bad luck and possibly a lack of sufficient maintenance by Westwood (bugs, balance, community). Some fans are trying (or tried) to make a 'sequel' but it's going terribly slowly (if not dead) and it might never fully come to fruition. Perhaps a Kickstarter would be an interesting thing for people to try. On May 04 2014 19:57 Yrr wrote: One of my favourite games but never played it online.
From what I've seen/heard, Nox is a game of quite divided opinion. Many people liked or even loved the single player and either never tried the multilayer or didn't care or didn't like it. The others may or may not have liked or played the single player, but really enjoyed the multiplayer.
Having played the single player and tolerating/liking it decent, I'm definitely in the latter category. You should absolutely try out multilayer especially if you're into FPS (or possibly even MOBA games). In my opinion it's where the game shines.
For quite some time now I thought it would be great if a MOBA-like game was made with Nox mechanics and controls— that, or a sequel to Nox, even a first-person or third-person version of it. I was going to try my hand at re-making Nox in Starcraft, but I was too fearful of lag, since it seems SC2's input system is crappy (can't get mouse position when a key is pressed, or any other scenario aside from mouse click).

Single Game = SOLO (Definetly the best, totally challenging and no nonsense stack of potions like other games that literally makes you invincible) Multiplay = QUEST (you can have a coop game, with 2 or more starting at stage 1 to etc.; More like story mode; See the game to relate) Multiplay = (Arena, Elimation, Capture the Flag and many more) I personally love arena and capture the flag. Overall, this game is sadly underated. This game should have been played by more players its really an awesome game. As one of the bloggers here in tl said.
