Hey how's it going everyone. Well the problem was that a while ago i bought this Ultimate Collection Disc that came w/ slim kit V12 & slide card. So i got it gave it a shot and when i got everything correct my PS2 would not read any backup games and eventually stop spinning and working.
So i asked around the site and some people had the same problem. I ended up giving up on the DVD BACKUP and bought a new PS2 v13. I read the other night about connecting a USB HD to it and read into it and noticed i had the proper stuff on my disc since it was a collection of programs.
Here's the list of the what the ultimate collection disc has # HD Loader 3.5 # HD Loader 7c # Swap Magic 3.6+ # HD Advance 3.0 # USB Extreme / Advance # COG Swap Loader # PS2 Loader # Magic Mem # Zone Free DVD 2005 # HDDump 0.8.1 # CDLoader so i went thru someone's guide on using USBEXTREME and went ahead and gave it a shot i used a 120 Maxtor HD n Formatted it w/ USBEXTREME into FAT32, Connected it to my PC and backed up a list of games and only a few worked. Here's the list!
Fatal Frame 4 + Patch. 4.2 Wii and Dolphin Emulator as well as via USB HD using WiiFlow and USB Loader GX. Fatal Frame 4 English Translation Patch Page 11 Wii.
Silent Hill 2 - WORKED Silent Hill 3 - DID NOT WORK Silent Hill 4 - WORKED Burnout 2 - DID NOT WORK Sonic Mega Collection - WORKED Fatal Frame 3 - WORKED Killzone - DID NOT WORK Toca Race Driver 3 - DID NOT WORK Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow - DID NOT WORK Red Nina - End Of Honor - DID NOT WORK i read the list of the games that do and dont work. I got one thats listed as not working to WORK! NOW THE QUESTION. I seen people post about HD ADVANCE & HD LOADER. Now are those programs better than USBEXTREME? Will my HD work with HD LOADER & HD ADVANCE?
Can the games i could not backup w/ USBEXTREME work with HD LOADER or ADVANCE? I would really appreciate the help. I went and read many bullentins but they always lose me with other new ideas that dont work and people always post different results.!! Hey, i m pretty new here to, but from what i have gathered (and somebody correct me if i m wrong) slims cant use hd loader, or hd advance, they r for fat ps2, which have a hdd connected via the ps2 network adapter. Yes there are programs that will convert pal to ntsc and vice versa, they r in this forum somwhere ( i forget where, sorry, do a search perhaps), but i think the results r a bit mixed with ceretains games not 100% compatible. I m sure other ppl will help u out more than i can, i'm still learing myself.
Official PS2 HDLoader Thread What is the HDLoader? Seems to be one of the top questions going around. I think I will wait a while to get this, but I am sure I will get it someday.
Maybe when the PS3 is about out Ill make sure to have it so i can have all of my games on my ps2 hd and can store the games away so when i need to get my ps2 on it will all be right there. Btw As you can see though, my 120GB Drive (Maxtor) only shows up as 114GB. On top of that, HDLOADER Only lets you use 111GB of it That is normal.
The 114GB is actual size. They say 120GB but that is when it is counted that 1024kB = 1GB when it is realistically used as 1000kB = 1GB or something like that. 32 Bit Keygen Autocad 2010. anyways, the 114 is normal. The other 3GB is probably part of the formatting the program does to the HD.
Perhaps the PS2 needs 3GB of it for special files for it to be compatible.something like that.Just note nothing is wrong. Someone wanted to know how it actually worked, and if the HDD needed some sort of casing. The HDD looks like: Top Bottom You dont need any sort of casing for it, you just need to pop the Network Adapter onto the end of it like in the picture.
From there, just slide it into the PS2 Tighten the 2 screws with a coin, and turn it on. Also to note, installing games, DVD ROM games (Silver) will install in full GB sizes. Meaning 1GB, 2GB, 3GB, or 4GB. Problem is, it seems that it really uses that much space.
So a 1.5GB game will say '2GB', which just means they'll be eating up quite a bit of data if you love a few hundred MB per game. CD Games (Blue) will install in the actual size.
103MB, 342MB, 502MB, etc. I installed a few more games (Installing GGXX Right now), and was surprised to see just how much space they took up. Stuff like GGXX is using 3GB!, Others like britneys dance beat (Dont wanna hear it! - It was something like $2.99 at target - still, its an incredibly crappy game for the price ) was 4GB, while frequency was around 500MB I believe. If a game is too scratched, it will say 'An error occured while reading the data', but will also give you an option to 'Continue' the copying process, so as long as that one damaged file it couldnt read, doesnt get called on, it should work fine 'Britney' had about 1 second of load time, Stuntman about 9 (going into the 'Stunt Creator' mode - Not sure what the averages were for that, but I believe it was close to 45 seconds for Stuntman. Seagates are the other recommended drive (First the maxtors, then the seagates), as for the over.
>>Not that anyone cares, but can I take my 120GB HD from my PC and format it on the PS2? I have been meaning to get another HD for storage and 250GB will suffice on my PC for now So what do I need to do to my HD from my PC?
